KNBR: Mike Krukow talks World Series on Murph and Mac this morning
"…one of the reasons everyone is so positive about Timmy is that a maturity has kicked in. I think everyone sees a maturity there, where at age 29 he’s not going to have that “Timmy the Kid” type of performance or type of presentation that you had at age 23 or 24. … He’s a different kind of pitcher, as anyone is going to be six or seven years later, and our guys like that. They like the way he’s adjusted, they like the way he’s used different pitches, they like the way he’s just matured as a person. That I think was a very big factor."
San Jose Mercury News: U.S. Department of Labor investigating pay practice of San Francisco Giants – This AGAIN? Pay your staff, SF Giants!
"The violations discovered by the Wage and Hour Division investigators were about minimum wage, overtime pay and record keeping, according to the department….According to the investigation, the employees were working more hours than were recorded, and the workers were receiving less than the hourly federal minimum wage of $7.25.Also employees were not paid overtime or had been classified as exempt from overtime pay."
Of course, the Giants deny wrongdoing, and hopefully they are in the clear this time, but two investigations in one year doesn’t look good on the organization.
