Happy Lincecum day!
Tim Lincecum (9-13, 4.40) takes the mound tonight for the Giants in game 3 of this 4 game series in Los Angeles. Ricky Nolasco (13-9, 3.14) goes for the Dodgers and is making his 13th start for LA since he was acquired from the Marlins. He has gone 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA in his 12 starts for LA.
First Pitch is 6:10pt at Dodger Stadium.
Tonight is the 21st career start for Timmy against the guys in blue. He holds the second lowest ERA (2.86) for active pitchers against the Dodgers.
Lincecum is also on the cusp of a milestone. With 8 more strikeouts Timmy would reach 1,500 for his career. According to Elias, Timmy ranks 3rd all time in strikeouts through his first 7 seasons trailing only Tom Seaver (1,655) and Bert Blyleven (1,546).
The lineups for tonight’s game.

Puig CF
Crawford LF
Gonzalez 1B
Uribe 3B
M Ellis 2B
Schumaker RF
Federowicz C
Punto SS
Nolasco P
Nick Noonan gets the start in place of Marco Scutaro today. I guess Marco couldn’t talk his way in to the lineup.
Brandon Belt returns to the lineup after a day off against Kershaw. Gregor Blanco is batting second, which I am not sure we have ever seen before. But there must be a method to Bochy’s madness because Blanco is 7 for 15 (.467) against Nolasco with a double and a run batted in.
If the Giants win tonight they will guarantee that those guys in blue cannot clinch at home this weekend.
Don’t forget, the San Jose Giants (A) have game 3 of their championship series at Municipal Stadium tonight starting at 7:05pt. They are down 2 games to none to the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels). So head on down and support the baby Giants. They have twice previously come back from an 0-2 deficit to win the title, so you just never know.
Enjoy your Saturday night everyone and Happy Lincecum Day!
