The San Jose Giants lost their opener in the Championship Series last night to the Inland Empire 66ers, 4-0. The baby Giants only managed 3 hits on the night and was completely shutout by 66ers starting pitcher, Orangel Arenas, who pitched 8 innings last night. Ty Blach pitched for the Giants, and pitched fairly well up until the 8th inning, giving up only 1 run in the 1st inning. However, in the bottom of the 8th, with the score 1-0, the 66ers put 3 more runs on the board. Blach left the game pitching 7.21innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs. Struck out 6 batters and did not issue a single walk.

CF Jesus Galindo, SS Matt Duffy, and DH Devin Harris got the only 3 hits for the Giants last night, all singles.

Hopefully the Giants have better luck tonight with top Giants prospect Kyle Crick on the mound. The game starts at 7:05pm tonight at the Inland Empire. The series returns to San Jose tomorrow night at 7:05pm to continue the best of a 5-game series.

If you’re interested in going to support the San Jose Giants tomorrow night, they are offering free general admission tickets once again on their Facebook page. A few of us were there for the final game this week against Visalia and it was a lot of fun. We’ll be there Saturday night too, so if you’re planning on going, let us know!
