Pre-game And Lineups 9/13 Giants At Dodgers

Madison Bumgarner (11-9, 2.82 ERA) will start for the Giants tonight in game two of the four games series against the Dodgers. Bumgarner has proved to be the most consistent and reliable starter this year. Bumgarner holds a 1.64 ERA against the Dodgers. The Giants have lost eight of his last ten starts despite him holding a 2.42 ERA in those starts.
Clayton Kershaw (14-8, 1.92 ERA) will start for the Dodgers and looks to be the obvious National League Cy Young leader in 2013. Kershaw holds a 1.32 ERA against the Giants.
There is unlikely to be much run support this evening so the Giants will have to play better defense and avoid making costly errors like last night. Bochy has a right-handed batter lineup today, choosing Brett Pill, Joaquin Arias, and Juan Perez over Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford and Gregor Blanco.
The stats today show that the Giants lead the National League in men left on base with 1,087 stranded baserunners. That is third in the majors after the Tigers and Red Sox.
