MVP Monday: Almost Perfect
By Melissa Felkins

This week is a no-brainer. Sure
Angel Pagan‘s walk-off hit yesterday was nice, but this week
Yusmeiro Petitstands alone as the MVP of the week. Friday night, he took a perfect game into the 8th inning and was one strike shy of making history before
Eric Chavezlined a single out to right field. Petit still got the first complete game shutout of his career, and the Giants got the win, so we’ll take it. I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far from him. I’m not sure if he has earned a starting rotation spot yet, after just a few starts, but he’s definitely got our attention. I can imagine if the price is right, we’ll see more of him next season.
