Game 2 of this 4 game series is tonight at AT&T Park. First pitch is 7:15pt and it’s LHP Patrick Corbin (13-5, 2.96) for the Diamondbacks against RHP Yusmeiro Petit (2-0, 3.12) for the Giants. This is Petit’s 3rd start for the Giants and will be his first at home.

These two squared off on Sunday down in the desert. Petit set a career high for strikeouts fanning 10 DBacks in 6 innings. Corbin allowed 5 runs in 5 innings to a Giants team playing mostly call-ups and bench players.

First, the Buster Posey news. We go to Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle for an update.

So it looks like he is out for a few days. Hector Sanchez will get the starts this weekend. Johnny Monell made his debut last night, but Sanchez is going to get the reps at the big league level.

The lineups for tonight’s Orange Friday matchup.

That guy hitting 7th is Chris Owings. He’ll be making his first start for Arizona tonight. He has appeared in two other games but this is his first time in the lineup.

There was a hiccup with the first starting lineup tweet. That one had both Brett Pill and Brandon Belt playing first base. As we can see, Pill is in left tonight. But we’ve seen him come out as early as the 5th inning in some of those starts.

Hunter Pence has reaced safely in each of the last 14 games, tied for 4th longest streak in the NL. Pablo Sandoval hasn’t just been hitting better the past few days, it’s been almost a month. He is currently hitting .390 (32-for-82) with 20 RBI over his last 22 games.

There’s only one more Ornage Friday after this one, enjoy the game everybody.
