The lineups are out for the first game of a 4 game series that starts tonight between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants.
Tonight’s pitching matchup is RHP Trevor Cahill (5-10, 4.39 ERA) for the DBacks and RHP Ryan Vogelsong (3-4, 5.49) for the Giants.
These two pitchers faced off August 31st in Arizona, both allowing 3 runs in a 4-3 victory by the DBacks. Neither got a decision in a game that ended on an Eric Chavez walk off base hit.
Martin Prado has a hot bat for the DBacks, he just won player of the month for August. The Giants come in after hitting 6 home runs in San Diego yesterday. Pablo Sandoval led the charge with 3 on his own. We’ll see if that translates as they come home.
Buster Posey is out of the lineup for the second straight game with a sore finger. Alex Pavlovic shared the info before the game.
Posey had X-ray today, doesn't have results yet. Feels better but still not ready to take swings.

Aaron Hill is 7 for 14 (.500) against Vogelsong lifetime. Chavez is not in the lineup.
Angel Pagan has had success against DBacks starter Cahill going 7 for 15 (.467) with a double and 2 walks.
