NLW Movers And Shakers – August 23-31, 2013
By Denise Walos

It was a very uneventful August around MLB and especially the Giants (thankfully Sabian didn’t move Hunter Pence, Javier Lopez or Tim Lincecum despite placing them on waivers last week). Below are updates from the National League West from August 23 to the waiver trade deadline which passed on August 31. I’ve included all reported DFA’s, waivers, acquired/traded/signed and released players in our division.
Some notable moves: Dodgers acquired Michael Young from the Phillies and picked up Edinson Volquez after the Padres DFA’ed him.
