No Run Support For Bumgarner, Giants Lose 5-4

Madison Bumgarner gets no run support. Again. I would be pissed if I were him. Seriously… Every at bat Bumgarner has, you hear the broadcasters say, “Let’s see Bumgarner help his own cause.” It makes me mad. HOW MUCH MORE CAN HE?

Lots of stupid errors. Five errors between the Giants and Rockies.
For the Giants:
- 1st inning- DJ LeMahieu reaches on a fielding error by first baseman Brandon Belt. DJ LeMahieu to 2nd.
- 6th inning- Nolan Arenado reaches on a force attempt, missed catch error by shortstop Brandon Crawford, assist to pitcher Jean Machi. Troy Tulowitzki to 3rd. Wilin Rosario to 2nd.
For the Rockies:
- 3rd inning- Brandon Crawford reaches on a fielding error by first baseman Wilin Rosario.
- 3rd inning- Roger Kieschnick reaches on a fielding error by first baseman Wilin Rosario. Brandon Crawford to 2nd.
- 4th inning- Buster Posey reaches on a fielding error by shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Brandon Belt to 3rd.
Bumgarner went 5.1 innings and allowed 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. He now has a 2.91 ERA.
Jhoulys Chacin had a no hitter going into the 7th inning. He was 7 outs from making history but Brandon Crawford (thankfully) broke it up with a single to center in the 8th inning. Chacin ended his night after 7 innings, allowing 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 Ks. Very impressive.
Bumgarner has the 8th lowest run support in the majors and the lowest on the Giants starting pitching staff. That sucks.
