Pre-gamer And Lineups 8/17 Giants At Marlins

Matt Cain (7-8, 4.44 ERA) will be starting for the Giants today against Henderson Alvarez (2-1, 3.18 ERA) for the Marlins. Cain has pitched at least seven innings in each of his last four starts. In his last four starts he has an impressive 2.17 ERA although recorded two losses because of the lack of run support.

Buster Posey is back in the lineup today (as expected) and Hector is not. Posey is only hitting .255 in August. Pablo Sandoval went 4-4 yesterday but is only hitting .218 this month.

Brandon Belt is hitting .431 the month of August and went 4-for-6 yesterday. On August 1 in Philadephia, Belt changed his grip on the bat, something he was reluctant to do in the past. Changes were seen immediately. Stay hot Brandon.
