Chad Gaudin (5-2, 2.42 ERA) starts for the Giants today vs. RHP Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 2.82 ERA) of the Miami Marlins. Gaudin has been one of our best starters since entering the rotation the beginning of June. He has gone 5-1 with a 2.60 ERA in his 11 starts.
Here are lineups for tonight’s 4:10PM PT game at Marlins Park (the roof will be closed tonight, it’s 88 degrees with 75% humidity in Miami right now):

Bochy said that Hector Sanchez would get a start in Miami and he’s #6 in the lineup tonight. Buster Posey is not in the lineup and word is be might also get a day off on Sunday. Posey is on pace to catch 124 games in 2013 (he caught 111 games last year). He’s also catching for a longer duration on average per game. There’s no doubt he can use a rest, he’s also been carrying this team offensively for most of this season too.
Interesting stuff from Bochy. Said Posey could rest Sunday as well. It's been a different year because games have been longer, more taxing.

Happy to hear that Sandy Rosario, who was hit by a line drive by Adam LaRoche in the 7th inning, is feeling better today.
Rosario, struck on chest by a liner yesterday, said he feels bueno. Could pitch today, but Giants figure to stay away from him.
