No Run Support For Cain – Giants Lose To Brewers 3-1

The Giants lost to the Brewers tonight 3-1. It was not because of a bad outing by starting pitcher by Matt Cain. Tonight was all about the inability to score with runners in scoring position.
Aug 6, 2013; San Francisco, CA, USA; San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain (18) pitches the ball against the Milwaukee Brewers during the first inning at AT&T
Giants were 1 for 9 tonight with RISP.
Giants are 2 for 22 in the last 2 games with RISP.
"It’s a problem. They’re wasting good pitching performances. It’s not about pitching right now, it’s about hitting. – Kuiper"
You can read more on the play-by-play here but I’ll spare the details in this recap. The Giants need to start hitting when they have men on base. Not much more to discuss in my opinion.
Pitching finally came around. #SFGiants would consistently win ballgames if they could just manage to score 4 runs. That's it. Only 4 runs.

Scutaro will get a day off tomorrow, Bochy said. He's one of many bats that just couldn't catch up with fastballs.

Marco Scutaro is now batting .224 in 37 games since June 20. Of his 33 hits, 31 have been singles. He's 0 for 9 since moving to leadoff.

Make it 10 games at AT&T Park without a homer for the Giants. That's a bad combo when you're not getting hits with RISP.

Belt doubles, and the Giants finally start an inning with a baserunner. They'd been 0 for 6 in the first six innings.

Madison Bumgarner (11-6, 2.69 ERA) takes the mound tomorrow vs. Brewers RHP Marco Estrada (4-4, 5.32 ERA). Let’s hope the Giants find some way to provide run support.
