Brown: Brian Wilson Signs Minor League Deal with #Dodgers

The Brian Wilson rumor mill with the Giants, Pirates, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, is now officially over:

As listed in a previous article, Brian Wilson’s best season was his coming out party in 2010 where he set career highs in 74.2 IP, 1.81 ERA, 2.19 FIP, 29.9 K%, 8.4% BB%, 2.5 fWAR. He pitched two innings in 2012 before he had to go for his reconstructive Tommy John surgery in April.
Right now the Dodgers bullpen is comprised of Kenley Jansen, Ronald Belisario, Paco Rodriguez, Chris Withrow, J.P. Howell, Carlos Marmol, and Brandon League. Even if the Dodgers get 2011 Brian Wilson, he should be higher in the pecking order than Marmol and League. I like this move for a contending team, and the Dodgers have the payroll and the standing in the standings to give Wilson a chance to thrive again. The Giants and Dodgers have seven more games left with each other, all in September. We wish him the best of luck, although not to the point of getting the Dodgers a World Series trophy.
