Vogelsong Set To Make 3rd Rehab Start

San Francisco Giants RHP Ryan Vogelsong is set to make his 3rd rehab start this Tuesday (7/30) with the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels. In two rehab starts, one with the AZL Giants and one with single A San Jose, Vogelsong has thrown 4.2 innings giving up 3 hits 2ER with 5K’s and 1BB.
Vogelsong is making his way back from a crushed pinky finger he sustained after getting hit by a pitch on May 20th in a start against the Washington Nationals. He had to have 5 pins inserted after having what was his most promising start of the year- seemingly the way 2013 has gone in all facets for the Giants.

When Vogelsong went down the Giants were 25-20, only one game behind the Diamondbacks for 1st place. Since May 20th they have gone 21-38, falling 12 games under .500 and 10 games behind the Dodgers. My how times have changed.
With the trade deadline looming this Wednesday afternoon, stay tuned for updates and rumors, there have already been plenty. One trade-off that is coming for sure however is the return of Vogelsong- said to be on or around August 9th, with 1 more rehab start in Richmond after this Tuesday.
Who stays and who goes when Vogelsong gets back? Which Vogelsong will the Giants be getting? The guy from May 20th, pre-injury of course, is something the Giants sorely need- and could end up being better than any trade out there.
Tuesday’s game kicks off at 4:05 PT.
