As tradition has it, President Obama hosted the reigning World Champions San Francisco Giants to the White House. Willie Mays was there too, representing everything that is awesome in baseball history.

President Obama’s opening remarks recognized that this was their 2nd World Championship and that they “were making this a habit.” He also mentioned the fact that Bruce Bochy recently hit the 1500 win mark as a manager, something only 21 other managers have done. Other highlights he mentioned were Matt Cain’s perfect game, Buster Posey’s comeback and MVP, Pablo’s 3 home run game. He even talked about the “torture” they tend to put us fans through.

Apparently we’re also going to have a “Kale garden” in Center Field next season. But, per the President, “it’s okay to have a hot dog every now and then at the ballpark.”
