Off Day Roster Moves: Pill and Kieschnick Coming Up, Corresponding Moves TBA

No better way to mark your 3:00PM PST on a Monday afternoon and Giants day off than with some unexpected roster moves:
Confirmed: Brett Pill, Roger Kieschnick have been removed from roster at Triple-A Fresno. More likely they are being promoted than dealt.

I mean, we’ve been over this a thousand times that if someone wanted to trade for Brett Pill that they would have done this by now, so something could be up.
Pill and Kieschnick will join #SFGiants in Philly tomorrow. Corresponding moves might involve a trade. Nothing done yet.

Pill, primarily a first baseman, in his time in Fresno this year has gone .344/.379/.630 with an impressive .429 wOBA and 158 wRC+. Kieschnick, an outfielder, has put up a .273/.339/.497 line with a .361 wOBA and 113 wRC+. Interesting that Kieschnick has been called up before Gary Brown, just in the category of “one’s a prospect and one hasn’t really been labeled that.” The front office has repeatedly said Brown and Kieschnick were not ready for the bigs, but with the Giants ten games back of the first place Dodgers right before the trade deadline, why not.
