VP Bobby Evans on Sirius/XM on Vogey, Pence, Brown, and a note on Romo

Not all of us pay for premium radio, and luckily beat writer Hank Schulman does so he can relay some fresh news to us on different players, even if they’re starting to appear a little dead horse-y. Vice President and Assistant General Manager Bobby Evans was on Sirius/XM being interviewed and talked Giants, starting with Ryan Vogelsong:
Bobby Evans on Sirius/XM: Vogelsong will do some rehab starts with Double-A Richmond. Shooting for return in "early or mid" August #sfgiants

So we’re still about a month out from seeing Vogey back doing baseball activities. That should give us enough time to judge Ryan Vogelsong and get an idea of what the Giants will do with his option for 2014.

Evans kind of dodged question on whether #sfgiants could trade Pence if things go south. Said "we hope we don't have to get to that point."

So what that sounds like is that the Giants would trade Pence, but that they clearly would rather not. It may or may not be a hint into their plans with Pence for beyond 2013, but we’ll save that kind of rosterbation for later.
Has anyone asked about Gary Brown recently? Anybody? Let’s ask again.
Evans reiterates the #sfgiants are not inclined to promote Gary Brown until he's ready to play every day.

Might as well make a banner out of this for the good people. Wait, it’s been a little bit of time, I wonder what the Giants think about Gary Brown?
An outside note from Schulman on Giants closer Sergio Romo, suspected trade chip if things get bad:
Nothing to do with Evans interview, but I'm told #sfgiants not thinking of trading Romo. "Tough to trade a closer we control," insider says.

A little less solid of a commitment to Romo than Sabean made to Tim Lincecum yesterday, but still one that will silence speculating bloggers like me for a while.
Thanks to beat writer Hank Schulman for chronicling the interview and relaying that information for us to indulge in.
