You can catch the game recap of this wonderful bit of Giants history here, but this is going to be just about the celebration. I tuned into the game mid-way through the fourth inning, and already I was hearing about greatness coming from Tim Lincecum. In a period so marred by inconsistencies and struggles, that Tim Lincecum put together a thirteen strikeout, society-loved no hitter, is an accomplishment so lucky (due to lack of ducksnorts and some fabulous defense), and so awesome, you can’t help but be so happy for Timmy. From the “top” we’ll start with pitch #147, a splitter:
Buster Posey embracing Tim Lincecum, followed by dogpile.
All sorts of happiness and emotions, I’ll admit I was crying.
Timmy got the game ball from Gregor Blanco
Two pitchers that have thrown no hitters in their time: an embrace between Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain
The battery share a hug
Pablo Sandoval and Tim Lincecum sharing some time together
Bruce Bochy trusting his kid, this might be my favorite hug
Timmy and Hunter Pence get a moment, you’ll remember Pence’s diving catch saved the no-hitter
To close, this still shot of the celebration is what I am so happy to call “Freaky Love”
Congratulations, Tim Lincecum. We love you very much.
