The standings that were released Monday morning for the NL Final Vote came in with a little bit of a surprise: Freddie Freeman, not Yasiel Puig, is leading the vote tally right now. Hunter Pence, the Giants representative, is third, followed by Ian Desmond then Adrian Gonzalez.

Looking at the Fangraphs chart for these players, I was surprised by the seasons some of these guys are having, and that Freeman seems to be carried by the Atlanta fanbase, as well as by runs and runs batted in, which to evaluate a player, are just horrible ways to do so. Also what interested me are that Desmond and Pence have played about 2.7 times more games than Puig, but his start to his career has been undeniably amazing. You can vote for Hunter Pence (or whomever you’d like) here until 1PM EST on July 11th, and there’s not even a limit on how many times you can vote, which is dangerous for your planned productivity. In case you were curious, I have decided I liked Koji Uehara‘s numbers the best and am voting for him alongside Hunter Pence. hashtag vote pence
