On Sunday before the final Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants game, the Giants needed to activate RHP Chad Gaudin to start Sunday’s game from the 15-Day Disabled List (elbow contusion), and their corresponding move was to option LHP Mike Kickham to Triple-A Fresno. Chad Gaudin will hold the role of number five starting pitcher in the Giants rotation and Kickham will return to the Fresno Grizzlies rotation.

Kickham, whose 12.15 ERA is a result of a couple bad outings in Oakland and Cincinnati, has seen earned runs hit his pitching line in every outing, including Friday’s drubbing when he ate up three innings for the Giants bullpen.

The Giants and Dodgers will play the rubber match of their three-game series today at 1:05PM PST at AT&T Park.
