It’s Friday, Friday, gonna get your contract purchased on Friday (and other moves)
I hate that song in real life. Hate, hate, hate. It still got your attention, though! The Giants are making some exciting July moves, and let’s start with defensive specialist Juan Perez:
The #SFGiants have optioned OF Juan Perez to triple-A Fresno and have purchased the contract of OF Cole Gillespie from triple-A.

Welcome back, Cole Gillespie, who definitely isn’t Conor Gillaspie (with the White Sox) or Charlie Culberson (Rockies). Always get those guys confused, especially the two CG’s. Gillespie has nine homers with Fresno this year. This move probably tells us something about the health of Joaquin Arias or Marco Scutaro, and I’m just wondering what it is. Or you know, maybe the Giants listen to KNBR all the time and have decided to take action after hearing hours upon hours of #FatChat. Still waiting patiently for their call-ups are Gary Brown and Roger Kieschnick. A corresponding move was made, and this was it:
Angel Pagan has been transferred to the 60-day DL to make room for Gillespie on the 40-man roster. #SFGiants

I was wondering when something like that was going to be done since Angel Pagan may not be back for another sixty days anyway, but there it is.
The Giants square off against their rivals from the south, the Los Angeles Dodgers today through Sunday at AT&T Park. Festivities tonight begin at 7:15PM PST.
