Now that the College World Series is over, participants from that tournament are free to sign with the clubs that drafted them. The Giants had two picks in the College World Series: Sixth round pick RHP Nick Vander Tuig from the champion UCLA Bruins and C Ty Ross out of LSU. The latter of the two took to twitter today to share his excitement… or something:
8 hour physicals #ProBall

So as long as he passed that, we’re good to go:
I want to thank everyone who made it possible!!! Officially part of the San Francisco Giants!!!

And now he’s part of the Giants system. No numbers have been released by the Giants, but you can check out what Baseball America has updated for the Giants draft here. So far, all Draft picks have at the highest started in the Arizona League, and then the club will decide on any future moves from there. We here at Around the Foghorn wish Ty (and all of the draft picks and undrafted signees) the best of luck and much success within the Giants system.
