Giants Swept By Dodgers

I’m going to be very brief for fear of saying inappropriate things.

  • Tim Lincecum pitched okay. He started out well and threw some great pitches early on, but stayed in longer than he needed to stay in.
  • Buster Posey was a beast tonight, hitting a home run and 2 singles.
  • Hector Sanchez needs to be sent back to Fresno to learn how to catch. Period. Poor throwing from him played a role in allowing a couple of the 4 runs the Dodgers scored.
  • Brandon Belt had 1 at-bat. The last at-bad of the game, no less. Let the Belt Bash on KNBR begin because somehow it will be his fault, never mind that Hunter Pence and Pablo Sandoval both left Marco Scutaro and Posey stranded on bases in the 9th before Belt came up.

Getting swept by the last place Dodgers sucks. No way around that, but we’re not to the All-Star break yet, so I’m not panicking yet. Really, I’m not (at least that’s what helps me sleep at night). It’s a long season. It will get better. Unless it gets worse, in which case, I’d ask you to kindly disregard my optimism.

Lincecum gets the loss and has still never beaten Clayton Kershaw. The Giants travel to Colorado next for a 3-game series with the Rockies starting on Friday. Let’s hope Coors field is kind to our bats (and not the Rockies).
