GIFPost: Juan Perez and Will Venable dazzle in Center Field

What do you want out of a baseball game? Exciting plays? Yes. Game-saving catches? Yes. Giants winning? Yes. This post contains some of those things, and if you watched Monday night’s game of the Padres and Giants, you’ll know where I am going (heck, you probably know from the title of the post).

Will Venable(25) congratulates right fielder
Chris Denorfia(13) after he scored during the thirteenth inning at AT
Let’s start with the home boy in Juan Perez, who threw out Logan Forsythe, on a play the Padres radio guy said something to the effect of, “There’s no way he’s going to get him… guess what? He got him.”
No more running on Juan Perez.
“He got me?” Probably the best quote from the night.
Juan Perez rocking out.
Will Venable decided that he hates happiness (from Giants-related peoples) and made a spectacular effort to make a flying catch towards the center field wall to prevent the Giants (and Juan Perez) from walking off to a 4-3 victory.
Instead, Brandon Belt was stranded on second, Bruce Bochy would mess up a double switch while Juan Mijares saw the tie game he came in to hold go fluttering away, like the Giants’ hold on third place.
They are now 1.5 games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a testament to how competitive it is in the NL West, and how dinged up everybody is. These remaining two games against the Padres are not “must win,” but they’re still pretty dang important.
