Giants Sign 3rd Round Pick Chase Johnson out of “Harvard West”/Cal Poly SLO

The Giants are going to be announcing some draft signings today, in addition to their first rounder, which I wrote about earlier today. Once again, from Jim Callis:
#Giants sign 3rd-rder Chase Johnson for $440k. Cal Poly RHP, 91-94 all the way to 97, solid CH better than brk ball, bullpen guy. #mlbdraft

Bleacher Report has done a scouting report on Chase Johnson which you can check out here. You’ll notice that his big league player comp is Octavio Dotel, which if you’re drafting a reliever, you could do worse.

With this signing of Johnson for $440,00, the Giants are now under budget according to Baseball America, but there’s probably going to be a lot of updating coming soon…
Giants announced that they've signed @arroyo_c and 19 other players from the 2013 Draft. They've signed nine of top 11 picks.

Hoping that update comes all at one time, and we’ll make sure to get that information to you once we get it.
