San Francisco Giants Place Angel Pagan On DL; Recall Juan Perez

Angel Pagan(16) scores the winning run after hitting an inside-the-park homerun in the bottom of the tenth inning against the Colorado Rockies at AT
Well, after ten days of playing shorthanded, the San Francisco Giants finally decided to place outfielder Angel Pagan on the disabled list, recalling outfielder Juan Perez in the process.
Pagan, who aggravated his injury on his walk-off, inside-the-park homerun had hoped to return to the lineup soon but an MRI taken today showed more swelling in his hamstring tendon and the Giants simply could no longer continue to play a man down.
Thankfully as Pagan hasn’t seen the field at any point during this time (no pinch hitting, etc), he’ll be placed on the DL retroactive to ten days ago meaning he’ll be eligible to return in just five days.
Perez isn’t likely to see much action during his expected short stay in the big leagues, though, he was putting up a very solid .296/.331/.507 triple slash with nine homers, 34 RBI and 12 stolen bases through his first 57 games at Triple-A Fresno.
Andres Torres and Gregor Blanco will continue to see the majority of playing time while Pagan sits.
