Put San Francisco Giants’ first baseman Brandon Belt in a room full of media and the self-admitted awkwardness comes out. Put Brandon Belt around a computer and it’s a match made in heaven.

If you’ve yet to follow Belt on Twitter, I highly recommend you do so – you know, for things like this:

"I want to compliment you @channingtatum, you got a rockin bod in Magic Mike #winkyface"

I’m not sure what the best part of that is – the fact that Belt felt the need and desire to compliment Tatum, the fact that he referred to it as a “rockin body” or that he capped it all off with #winkyface. He didn’t even opt for the more traditional wink face symbol – he went full out hashtag on em.

Belt, who likes to think of himself as the early 2000 version of Tiger Woods on the putt-putt courses around Arizona may have lost his most recent game to a particular Giant, who may have put him up to the shenanigans. Either way, much like the rest of Belt’s tweets, it was a pretty funny moment given what we know of Belt’s relatively dry public/media personality.
