Although there’s some small doom and gloom with the news that the Giants aren’t sure they’ll be able to retain Angel Pagan (which, again, needs to be taken with a grain of salt), there is some positive news on one of the Giants’ remaining free agents.
Still working out the kinks in a potential deal, the Giants do feel they’ll be able to keep NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro in orange and black for the next few years, this according to ESPN’s Buster Olney:
"…[Giants] believe that they’ll work out something with Marco Scutaro to return as their second baseman."
With limited options available in the organization or even in free agency, Scutaro essentially becomes a near must-sign for the Giants and at least as of now, it looks like both parties are on the same page and it’ll only be a matter of time until the ink is on the dotted line.
