After losing a handful of players through waivers and free agency in recent days, the Giants began to restock the farm with organizational depth and picked up a handful of players who could eventually find their way to the China Basin.

One of them who could make the big show is RHP Fabio Castillo, who the Giants were able to pick up and sign to a minor league contract. The fallen prospect had spent seven years in the Texas Rangers organization, but struggled with his command resulting in the Rangers giving up on the once highly thought of arm.

The 23 year old Castillo Castillo put together a 3.54 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 41/26 K/BB ratio across 56 innings of relief this past season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.
