The Giants will face the Detroit Tigers beginning Wednesday at AT&T Park. Barry Zito vs. Justin Verlander are the likely starting pitchers.

Tonight’s game was just one more notch in the Giants belt tonight. They are 6-0 in elimination games this season, beating the Cincinnati Reds by winning 3 straight, and 3 straight against the St. Louis Cardinals for another trip to the World Series.

If a team is one fire, it most certainly is the San Francisco Giants, and tonight they did it behind none other than NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro. Scutaro was 3 for 4 tonight with a walk,

In a game that ended in the pouring rain, the Giants were all about offense tonight and the Cardinals were all about, well, everything but offense, or defense. The Giants combined for 14 hits, 9 runs, 0 errors, and a home run by Brandon Belt in the 8th inning. There was so much offensive and defensive goodness to go around. Every starter had a hit (even Cain), and Brandon Crawford made a beautiful jumping catch in the 2nd inning, making the 3rd out and preventing at least one run from scoring. Hunter Pence, who has struggled as a Giant, came through big tonight, hitting a 3-run double in the 3rd inning that gave the Giants a hefty lead, and the confidence needed to keep piling on the runes.

Matt Cain got the win tonight, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 0 runs.

I love this team!
