Some interesting news from Baggs this afternoon as he reported a bit of a dust-up at the Okay Corral earlier this morning involving an Anaheim Angels scout.
Apparently, the scout positioned his residence behind the dish in the closed stadium (scouts are allowed access to grab credentials/tickets) and began to take notes on what he saw:
"Giants manager Bruce Bochy showed his inner Harbaugh on Wednesday morning, instructing security to remove a scout from the Los Angeles Angels who was taking notes while the club was conducting infield drills. The scout, Jeff Schugel, reacted with disbelief when asked to leave.“I’m sitting there grading arms,” said Schugel, who worked for the Twins and Dodgers before joining the Angels. “In 25 years, I’ve never had that happen to me.”"
After being asked to leave per Bochy’s request, the scout simply shuffled his way down the line and took another seat before being thrown out. The scout then made sure to let all know he was on the phone with the Angels complex and that NO Giant scouts were allowed at Tempe Diablo Stadium (where the Angels play) until the public gates open.
No word on if he took his sour grapes or spilled milk with him.
The Giants and Angels get together for a mid-June series later this year.
