When the Nike rep shows up at the team clubhouse and you’re currently sidelined with an elbow injury, what better way to spend your afternoon than to throw down some cash for charity?
Wilson, never a guy to march to the drumbeat of another, bid on two pairs of the 2011 Nike MAG “McFly’s” and, luck be had it, won both auctions.
The kicks, (modeled after Marty McFly’s Back To The Future character) were created in partnership with Michael J. Fox’s Foundation which seeks a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Nike is listing over 150 pairs on EBay in 24 hour auctions, some prices fetching over $22,000 dollars.
And in some baseball related Wilson news – assuming all goes well this morning in Colorado, Wilson will be activated from the disabled list.
