If You Missed It: Pablo Sandoval Goes Cycling

By Bryan Rose

For those outside of the Giants viewing area or lacking MLB Extra Innings, here is the Panda’s evening in a two minute clip.

Pablo became the second MLB’er this year (joining Brewers catcher George Kottaras) to hit for the cycle and the first Giant to do so since

Fred Lewis, who ironically enough also did so in Colorado back in 2007. It was only the 10th cycle in San Francisco Giants history – bet you thought the Giants had more than that, eh?

Panda blasted a two-run shot in the top of the first, followed by a single in the second and a ducksnort double down the left field line in the fifth. Needing only a triple to complete the magical night, Sandoval hit a bomb to deep right-center which bounced off the bottom of the wall and after a few moments of slow trotting, assuming a homer, Panda hit the jets and made it into third easily, completing his cycle.

The Rockies walked him in his fifth and final at-bat.

Where are those rubber chickens?
