Pirates Shutdown Giants 5-0

By Melissa Felkins

Giants fans shouldn’t worry too much about getting beat by the Pirates yesterday. These are not the Pirates of the past 19 seasons. These are the 2011 and one-time (and maaaaybe still) playoff hopeful Pirates. This years Pirates are pretty decent and lest we forget, they did have 3 All-Stars for the first time in a long time. Let’s face it. Teams don’t lose 10 straight very often. They were bound to win at some point, and with the way the Giants have been playing lately, it was probably going to be against them. At least it’s out of the way now for the Giants to win the last 2 games and win the series. It’s the Giants turn to get something they need right now.

At least Nate was hitting good again last night, going 3 for 4. He also played right field. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not, but he does not look comfortable in left field, that is for sure. And Huff reached base twice on a hit and a walk, so he did his job last night too. No one could just seem to get them in though.

It’s a new day and I fully expect Bumgarner to beat up on the Bucs tonight.
