Vogelsong Now Leads NL in ERA; Beats Dodgers

By Melissa Felkins

Ryan Vogelsong finally hit the magic number of having more innings than number of games played by the Giants. After his 6.2 innings with 0 ER, his ERA sits at 2.02 on the season. That now qualifies to lead the National League and is 2nd in MLB. It couldn’t have happened during a better game either. Beating the Dodgers, even when they are down, is always fun. Tonight’s game was all kinds of fun since we managed to score more than 1 run (although we only needed 1 run in the end). Giants 5 , Dodgers 0.

Pablo went 3 for 4 with a solo home run. Nate went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Cody Ross went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Crawford knocked in the other run after replacing Tejada with a lower abdominal strain. It was a good night for the Giants bats (10 hits), especially after a couple extra inning games in San Diego. It was to see the boys playing with some excitement tonight and fighting off rallies by the Dodgers with good defense.
