ESPN: The Giants Aren’t Very Fan Invested? Say Hey?

By Bryan Rose

Good news everybody. The Giants sort of suck. The whole franchise. All of it. At least, so say a few writers from ESPN.

The worldwide leader in sports released their ninth annual “Ultimate Team Rankings” in which they measure how much MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL franchises give back to the fans in exchange for all the time, money and emotion the fans invest in them.

Eight categories were set up by fans to determine each franchises rank, with those eight being: “Bang for the buck”, fan relations, ownership, affordability, stadium experience, players, coaching and title track.

The Giants ranked 32nd in the list (out of 122) which doesn’t seem so bad initially – however, when you look at some of the franchises placed ahead of them – you can’t help but question the rankings.

I mean really – the Phoenix Coyotes? Really? Not to diss the franchise or some of the fantastic events they do hold – but this is the same team that has declared bankruptcy and is consistently on the phone with moving companies.

I guess cheap booze trumps all.
