Freddy Gets His 1000th Career Hit (But We Still Lost)

By Melissa Felkins

Giants were shutout today 6-0 by the Brewers. Matt Cain gave up 11 hits today, mostly all singles though and allowed 5 runs in 6 innings. Today’s roster was full of backups and newly called up Giants including Burriss, Belt, Crawford, and Stewart. The fresh blood didn’t help the bats any though as the Giants remained cold, only mustering up 6 hits on the day. The Giants dropped 2 of 3 in this series and are now tied with Arizona as NL West leaders.

On a more positive note though, Freddy Sanchez got his 1000th career hit today in the first inning. He also got his 1001st hit as well. Congrats to Freddy who is about the only Giant hitting right now, with a .302 average on the season. Check out the video: Click here.
