Giants Drop First Game To Padres

By Melissa Felkins

The San Francisco Giants lost it’s first game in a two game series against the Padres yesterday by a score of 3-1. The game was played in San Diego and what the Friars home opener. Many fans have already began questioning Bochy’s lineup since he kept the same lineup he used as we dropped 3 of 4 against the Dodgers over the weekend.

The Giants got on the board early manufacturing a run in the first inning. After that though, they kept coming up short. Bumgarner broke down in the 3rd inning, allowing 3 runs before coming out of the game. San Diego’s pitcher, local boy Harang, pitched 6 innings and had a much stronger outing than Bumgarner.

It’s important to note that the Giants had 8 hits to San Diego’s 7, but couldn’t convert it into runs. We were 1 for 8 with runners on base and left 7 on base. San Diego’s stats weren’t that much better, but they got the runs when it counted.

Giants fans, on the other hand, should be looking foward to another season full of torture.

On a positive note, today’s game, that just started, has the Giants out with a 3-0 lead in the middle of the 1st.
