By Bryan Rose

According to MLBTR, the Giants have extended Freddy Sanchez’s contract one year meaning he’ll be locked up for the black and orange through the ’12 season. The one year extension is reportedly worth around 6 million dollars which is Sanchez’s current salary.

Freddy was apparently offered a 2013 club option in the deal with an accompanying buyout, but, he opted to control his free agency status going into 2013 and signed the one year extension instead.
