Giants Win Battle of Bay

By Melissa Felkins

The Giants beat the Oakland A’s at AT&T Park last night with a score of 4-3. It’s only an exhibition in a three game series this week, but it feels good to have that out of the way. Apparently Giants fans were out in force too, still reeling from the World Series win. That has to make the players feel good.

Cain pitched 5.1, giving up 6 hits and 3 earned runs, but had 6 strikeouts to go along with it. In the end though, Edlefsen got the win for finishing out the 5th. That’s just Matt Cain’s luck.

On the offensive side, Burrell knocked in 2 runs, Posey knocked in 1 and Huff had a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th to give the G-men the lead and ultimately the win.

Tonight, we head to Oakland for the 2nd game in the exhibition series.
