Cody Ross Wins Orange…Err Teal, Ferrari?

Despite his success with the Giants, it wasn’t long ago that Cody Ross was rocking the teal and black of the Florida Marlins and taking orders from Marlins head honcho Jeffery Loria. To make a long story short, Ross recalled a pretty expensive promise Loria made during spring training of 2009. What was that promise? Glad you asked, my little snowflake. Loria made a promise that he’d hand the keys to his car to any Marlin who won the NLCS MVP award (assuming the Marlins made it that far…lolz). That car? Just a cheap Ferrari – nothing major.

Anyway, not one to miss out on a fine opportunity, Ross rang up Loria not too long ago and wondered if he could still collect on that deal (all be it, joking)…you know, being he’s now an NLCS MVP and shit.

According to the Miami Herald:

"“I said whoever wins the MVP in the World Series and playing for us can have my car,” Loria said. “The whole concept was to get to the World Series.”“He (Cody) called and said, ‘I won (the MVP) for the NLCS. Does that count?’ I said ‘Not exactly’ and ‘You’re not playing for us. But I’m very happy for you.'”Sorry Cody. I mean, if Dan Uggla can’t get a raise…. “I said whoever wins the MVP in the World Series and playing for us can have my car,” Loria said. “The whole concept was to get to the World Series.”“He (Cody) called and said, ‘I won (the MVP) for the NLCS. Does that count?’ I said ‘Not exactly’ and ‘You’re not playing for us. But I’m very happy for you.'”"
