According to Baggs, Bochy has announced that Jonathan Sanchez will take the hill in Game 2 of the NLCS. Matt Cain, the expected Game 2 starter, will be pushed back to Game 3, the Giants home opener of the NLCS.
Sanchez has pitched well against the Phillies this year in his two prior starts, going 2-0 with a 1.38 era in 13 innings. The effectively wild southpaw also held the Phillies to a .114 team average along with a whip of 0.92.
Considering Sanchez’s success against the Phillies along with his better road splits and Cain’s better home splits, it’s not as questionable as one might think. Still, what are your thoughts on Bochy’s move? Like it? Not a fan?
