You and I know damn well there was nobody with a brain or a set of eyes that would have bet on that. Beating the Brew-crew, on the road, four straight after the ass-reaming the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Rockies laid on the Giants?
That series was pretty rough for the Brewers – they looked downright atrocious, but hey, a win is a win. And four straight on the road has me dancing in the streets like a drunk on Mardi Gras.
Buster Posey and Aubrey Huff simply manhandled the Brewers all series long. It was like a cat toying with dead mouse. The pitching, well, the starting pitching was absolute money and the majority of the relief corps *cough* not Denny Bautista *cough* did a solid job as well.
I’m so used to complaining, but, I can’t even find anything to piss and moan about. That just doesn’t seem right.
On the plus side though, thank GOD BUSTER POSEY I’m not a Brewers fan. Wow. They looked just awful, awful, awful. I’m not sure I’ve seen a four game stretch where a team has looked so bad, all around. They were something like 2 for 42 (no, I’m not making that up) with runners in scoring position. Their defense would have made the Bad News Bears blush. It was almost heartbreaking for the fans in Milwaukee. Almost.
Reality might set back in tonight though as the Giants open up their final series of the first half in Washington. The Nationals will send uber-phenom Stephen Strasburg to the mound who was granted an extra day of rest.
