At least there is a potential reason as to why Buster Posey has been randomly benched. According to Baggs:
"It made no sense for Buster Posey to sit the previous two games. Turns out Giants might’ve been showcasing Bengie Molina to the Rangers."
Update: According to both Baggs and Jon Paul Morosi, the Rangers and Giants are in “final talks” and the deal could be finished within 24 hours. No official word yet on the return for the Giants. Morosi speculates that one time high level prospects Chris Davis or Jarrod Saltalamacchia, both of whom failing to live up to their lofty expectations, could be the return – though a source close to the Rangers denies either player is involved.
Jeff Wilson from the Fort Worth Star Telegram also adds this gem:
"When asked about the delay in making a roster move so that Omar Beltre can be added to the roster to make his major-league debut tonight, manager Ron Washington said, “We might have something working.” He said something would be known by the time the Rangers finish batting practice. That should happen shortly after 8 p.m. CDT."
More updates from John Shea:
"Bengie Molina is on Giants’ flight to Colorado, but I’m hearing the trade to Texas is extremely close and figures to come down tonight."
