Giants Invade South Beach

By Bryan Rose

Well, it appears we’ll never win three games in a row this season against the same team. It’s obviously impossible. The Giants again took the first two of three versus a team, but faltered in the final game of the set, winning 2 of 3 versus the Rockies before blowing the potential sweep Sunday afternoon.

The loss certainly made it a quiet, cross country evening flight despite the fact the Giants just won 6 of 9 versus 3 of the 4 playoff teams from last year, a more than respectable performance.

The black and orange now get ready to take their act on the road for an Eastern seaboard road trip where the games don’t get any easier. The Marlins and Mets both boost winning records, with the Mets currently holding onto the title of most home wins in the early season.

In some roster related news, the Giants activated Aaron Rowand on Sunday and sent down Waldis Joaquin who struggled in his few mop-up appearances this year.

The Giants will skip Todd Wellemeyer’s rotation spot this road trip and start the roadie with Tim Lincecum who will start twice on the 6-game schedule, including tonight.

Attendance for tonight’s game is expected to be in the teens.
