Sources close to the Giants and Mark DeRosa both are claiming that the two sides are very close on a 2 year, 12 million dollar deal. FoxSports has more on the information, which you can find here.
DeRosa had an amazing start to the season last year in Cleveland but struggled later in the year, especially after he was traded mid-season to the St. Louis Cardinals. Injuries really plauged him down the stretch, which dropped his numbers – especially the average.
For 6 million a year…saving Pablo the wear and tear at 3B, and for providing a steady bat and glove…you can’t really complain.
