Recap: Season Is Over.

By Bryan Rose

Giants – 4

Rockies – 6

14 innings of pain

I’ve seen a lot of bad things in my time. A lot. I do root for the Sacramento Kings as well. So, I know all about epic meltdowns. Epic fails. This though…this climbed it’s way to the top of the list.

I mean – after getting a 3 run lead in the top of the 14th, they walk a guy who most likely just fractured his leg the pitch prior (fouled a 3-2 pitch off his leg and lay on the ground for 5 minutes) and they walk Adam Eaton who came into pitch out of desperation. WITH THE BASES LOADED. I’m gonna say that again for you, my little snowflakes. THEY WALKED THE PITCHER!! WITH THE BASES LOADED!!!!!!!! And of course, they gave up a base hit to Garret Atkins who is hitting around .073 for the season. Can’t forget that jewel. And oh yea – that whole “walk off grand slam” thing that happened was the suxor too.

Three games in this series we had leads into the 6th inning of 6-1, 2-0, and 4-1…yet we end up losing 3 of 4. There are no words. None. Not one. Period.

OH! Also – Kung Fu Panda? He left the game injured, just in case you wanted a little more good news to start off your day. No word on the seriousness yet…

The season is over folks. Yes, the Giants will go on a mini run in mid September. Yes, they might take 4 of 6 from the Rockies at home here in the next couple weeks. Yes, they’ll continue to “try” and make something out of nothing – but it’s over. That’s it. You can kiss the season goodbye.
