<p>After getting rocked in Colorado last week, the Giants will play hostile host to play the Rockies yet again for a three game weekend set after taking 2 out of 3 games at home against the Nationals.</p>
<p>The Rockies showed no mercy in their last matchup in Colorado, absolutely smacking the ball off of the Giants lackluster pitching, so the Giants look to serve up some of their own home cooking.</p>
<p>Although it was Coors Field, known for inflated run totals, there was no excuse for the multitude of defensive mishaps on the part of the Giants.</p>
<p>AT&amp;T Park won&#8217;t be as friendly for the Rockies bats, although the Giants will still need to hunker down on defense.</p>
<p>Tonight, Tim Lincecum takes the hill. Lincecum struggled mightily in his last start in Colorado after showing out a possible bounce back to his freakish form against the Braves two starts ago.</p>
<p>Timmy only struck out two batters and only went 5.0 innings after giving up 6 runs on 7 hits to the Rockies.</p>
<p>In his up and down season, He will look to bounce back up to face the young 2-0 right hander <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chatwty01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Tyler Chatwood</a></strong>.</p>
<p>7:15pm first pitch.</p>
<p>Starting lineups have not been released yet for tonight&#8217;s game but here&#8217;s a look at the pitching matchups for the rest of the series:</p>
<p><strong>Friday: Tyler Chatwood (2-0, 2.55 ERA) vs Tim Lincecum (3-3, 4.70 ERA) First pitch: 7:15pm PT</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong><strong>Saturday: <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/nicasju01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Juan Nicasio</a></strong> (4-1, 4.47 ERA) vs <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/z/zitoba01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Barry Zito</a></strong> (3-3, 3.91 ERA) First pitch: 1:05pm PT</strong></p>
<p><strong>Sunday: <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/garlajo01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Jon Garland</a></strong> (3-5, 5.19 ERA) vs <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cainma01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Matt Cain</a></strong> (3-2, 5.12 ERA) First pitch: 1:05pm PT</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong> <strong></strong>Matt Cain will get an earlier start in the rotation due to <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/vogelry01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Ryan Vogelsong</a></strong> moving to the disabled list.</p>
<p>This is the last home series before the Giants move into interleague play with the Athletics in Oakland.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been a rough couple of days for the San Francisco Giants pitching staff. In addition to losing <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/vogelry01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Ryan Vogelsong</a></strong> to a broken hand, the Giants lost Santiago Casilla to the disabled list with a knee injury.</p>
<p>The injury to Casilla&#8217;s knee isn&#8217;t anything new. In fact, the Giants knew of the issue last year &#8211; deeming it a &#8220;cyst&#8221;, but the pain has continued to linger for Casilla this season which resulted in a handful of missed games, which then lead to a stint on the disabled list.</p>
<p>The rest isn&#8217;t helping apparently and Giants general manager, speaking on KNBR yesterday, stated that the team may need to get ready to be without Casilla for quite a while as it appears surgery is in his future.</p>
<p>Per <a href="http://blogs.mercurynews.com/giants/2013/05/24/giants-notes-righettis-thoughts-on-vogelsong-injury-sabean-says-casilla-likely-headed-for-surgery/" target="_blank">Alex Pavlovic</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>On that note, here’s an important quote from Brian Sabean yesterday on KNBR: “I think we’re going to lose Casilla for an extended amount of time. I would anticipate there’s some form of surgery coming.”</p></blockquote>
<p>After losing Vogelsong, the Giants are already stressed with their thin pitching, though the injury to Casilla should all but squash the idea of <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gaudich01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-aroundthefoghorn.com" target="_blank">Chad Gaudin</a></strong> moving to the starting rotation.</p>
