Matt Duffy has awesome bats, Angel Pagan still out: Lineups for the series finale between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks

Last night, the San Francisco Giants were fueled by stellar pitching and timely hitting. The recipe for success it seems. Jake Peavy fired seven and two thirds innings of one run ball, whilst Brandon Crawford had a great night at the dish, collecting the go ahead sac-fly, after Buster Posey‘s solo shot to right. All in all, while the offense was relatively quiet, a win is a win, right?

Tonight, the staff ace, Madison Bumgarner will take to the mound to try and seal the series win against rookie, Andrew Chafin. With the Los Angeles Dodgers losing in Colorado, the Giants sit three games behind Los Angeles, who currently lead the way in the National League West. The lineup, given that Angel Pagan and Joe Panik are missing looks kind-of weak tonight.

As mentioned above, Pagan is still missing. The centre fielder, and leadoff is yet to feature in the Arizona series, and hence Juan Perez has had to play, which isn’t ideal given that the Giants are in desperate need of wins right now, and simply can’t afford to lose again. Furthermore, Blanco has had to have been moved up in the lineup – he was very hot in the six hole. Thus, the news comes as worry for the injury prone, and very fragile Pagan. There has been no official word as of yet of as to why he isn’t playing, only time will tell I guess.

In other, less important but much cooler news, it has been revealed that rookie infielder Matt Duffy undoubtedly has the coolest bats ever. Andrew Baggs, of CSN, tweeted a photo of his bat knobs yesterday, prior to the game. It is safe to say; they are awesome. If you have ever watched the simpsons, which everyone has, right? You will know who Duffman is. If not, you can see him on Duffy’s bat knob.
