The Giants will host the Twins in game two at 7:05pm after winning the first game of the series last night 6-2. Ryan Vogelsong (2-2, 3.62 ERA) will make the start for the Giants and RHP Sam Deduno (1-2, 3.53 ERA) for the Twins.
Vogelsong is having a fantastic season, surprising all of the early season doubters and surpassing anyone’s expectations he would return to form in 2014. If you take out his rough start against the Rockies on April 21, 5 ERs in less than 2 innings, he would have a 2.79 ERA.
Here’s how the matchup looks Vogelsong vs. Twins.
Deduno was originally signed by the Colorado Rockies as an amateur free agent in 2003 and made his debut in 2010 at 27 years-old with the Rockies. He is 15-15 with a 3.98 ERA in his career, this is his third year with the Twins.
Only Posey and Sandoval have seen Deduno in one AB so your guess is as good as mine when it comes to today’s matchups.
